In 2016 I was involved in a car crash with a red light runner in a pickup truck. In addition to my physical injuries, I was diagnosed with PTSD.
Because of the severe trauma I went into a deep depression. I felt totally detached from the real world and suffered from high anxiety. In therapy, it was impossible to verbalize what I was gong through, so I began making self portraits.
The images "visually" expressed my mental state and how I viewed myself during that time, and therefore helped me on the road to my recovery.
